See inside the book

Two finished books,
page by page.

These are not mockups. Every page below came out of the same file we send to the printer — same type, same layout, same page numbers. What you see here is what arrives.

·

The cover is designed separately and printed as its own wrap, front, spine and back. Inside, both books hold six memories and run to fourteen printed pages. A softcover is bound at a minimum of 32 pages, so a book this short has blank pages added at the back — we tell you exactly how many before you approve it. Most books arrive longer than this.

Anatomy of a book

What’s in every Memory Binding

Length varies — every book is sized to the memories that came in — but the structure is the same one you can see above.

i.

A title page and dedication

Your book’s name, who it honours, and one line you write yourself. Add an opening letter and it sits here too.

ii.

A contents page

Every contributor, their relationship to the honouree, and the page their memory starts on. The numbers are printed on the pages themselves, so they can be found.

iii.

The memories, with photographs

Set in a serif meant for long reading. Each memory can carry one photograph — beside the story, above it, or given a full page — with a caption saying who is in it. Short messages are set larger so they fill their page.

iv.

A photo gallery and a list of everyone

Every photograph gathered in one place, then every contributor by name, and a closing message from you. Both are optional.
